Dear/ Importers of electrical appliances
Asharqia Chamber presents you with the best greetings and would like to inform you of receiving the Saudi Customs' letter - King Abdulaziz Port Customs - Customs Affairs No. (11239 / M) dated 15/12 / 1439, which referred to the memo of the Assistant Governor for Customs Affairs No. (475/43 / M) dated (15/11/1439), and the attachment of the memo No. 174/43 / M dated 15/3/1436, which includes the mandatory application of Saudi Standards for products that are subject to the Energy Efficiency Program. They include small-size air conditioners- window and split, refrigerators, refrigerators with freezers and household washers.
It is to your avail that the Saudi Customs has received a letter from the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization No. 5091 / AS dated 9/7/1439, on the above-mentioned standard update, as the energy efficiency card has been redesigned according to the attached model and the previous model has been discontinued, which depends on the number of stars, even if they carry valid licenses, except for refrigerators for display and washing machines with a capacity of more than 25 kg.
The certificates of conformity won't be accepted unless the product has registration certificate number from the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization.
And in light of the instructions of His Excellency the Governor to confirm the specialists in Customs by adopting this regulation and working with it as of 20/1/1440, corresponding to 1/10/2018.
Therefore, King Abdul Aziz Port Customs hopes that importers of electrical appliances mentioned above to work strictly and carefully in following the regulation. These electrical appliances will not be allowed to enter to the port unless it includes the product registration certificate number from the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization as of 20/1 / 1440, corresponding to (1/10/2018).
